The toy bucket challenge!

So, we were challenged by The Vanilla Pup, Latte and her owner on Instagram to do the #ToyBucketChallenge.
We had to either pour a bucket of stuffies over our heads OR donate $10 to an Animal Welfare Group of our choice.

Since it was for a good cause, we immediately said YES! to it.
#challengeaccepted #bringiton
Besides, nothing beats being showered with toys. Like literally.

Mummy was all geared up and started walking around the house with a bucket to pick up the dead toys that were scattered around the room.
To ensure that she did not sabo (cheat) us by putting a rock or two in it, she allowed us to inspect the toys prior to the challenge.
#allclear
The reason why Pecan ah ma looked blur in the image was that she actually attempted to steal a toy or two away!
#itistoybucketchallengenotstealatoychallenge
Tsk Tsk tsk... old people huh..
Once we gave her the green light, we got into position....
(Okay, we did switch position after a while... I didn't want to stand near Daddy who was doing the tossing.. heheheh...)

Let's go!
#whatthetootwasthat #itisrainingtoys
It happened so quickly that we were a little surprised. Thankfully, I was quick enough to hop out of danger's way before any toys hit me.
#Samthefatninja
While we were a little shocked by what just happened... we did have a ball doing it!

More importantly, besides the joy of laughing at us (our mummy is mean that way),  Mummy decided to do her part for charity and went ahead to donate $20 to Animal Welfare Groups in Singapore! She did it during a dog event over the weekend! ($10 went to Causes for Animals Singapore on my behalf and another $10 went to Animal Lovers League for Pecan!)

So, if you are a cute furry animal like myself, am up for a challenge and have $10 to spare for an animal welfare organization, join us on our Toy Bucket Challenge too!

Sibling Love...

The relationship between me and Pecan ah ma has come a long, long way.
From arch enemies to tolerant housemates to loving siblings.
From frequent fights, to occasional squabbles, to ganging up against Mummy together.
Most importantly, we've even learnt how to play properly.
While most of the time we wrestle to crawl on top of each other, there are a couple of rare occasions where we just spend sometime showing some sibling love.
Mummy: "Awwwwwww... so sweet. Give her a kiss, Sam?"

With my eyes on the treats Mummy is waving, I decided to give Pecan ah ma a kiss.
Worst decision of my life.

Because ah ma has bad bad BAD breath.

I nearly died man....
(*with eyes looking at the treat*)
Since we're siblings, I really do not mind.

Here goes...
#instantregret
Touched by my gesture, Pecan ah ma decides to return my favor and gave me a kiss too!
#siblinglove
I swear that Mummy was in tears after witnessing this heartwarming moment.
Okay, I exaggerate.
But seeing her grin from ear to ear, I'm pretty sure we made her very happy today.

Our pet monkeys!

Both me and Pecan ah ma have a fondness for a certain animal - Primates!
So, knowing that, Mummy decided to buy each of us a pet monkey toy!
Hee, but although we are siblings, we do have very contrasting taste in the types of toys we desire.
Can you tell which is mine and which is ah ma's?

If you've been following ah ma's obsession, it will be an easy breezy guess.
Yap, Santa, the latex monkey toy, is Pecan's while Mon-Mon, the stuffie is mine!
Pecan ah ma is really mean to her toys.
Not only does she lick them with her stinky sweet saliva (*shrugs*), she even steps on them!
#resignedmonkey
I certainly wouldn't wanna be him!
#Santahasasuckylife
I treat my toys wayyyy better.
I usually just hold Mon-Mon in my mouth, shake the hell out of him and tear him apart little by little (I always start with the ears), I mean, play with him.
See I so nice nor?
#Samisnicetohistoys #whatadarling
The truth is... this is my Nth Mon-Mon...
Many before him ended up...like...
HEHEHEHEHEHHEHE...
On the other hand, Pecan's still on her very first Santa (After more than half a year). Best of all, it still squeaks!
Well, I guess it's just different play style. Yeah?

At least my current Mon-Mon is still smiling for the camera hor. (Cos' he doesn't know what's in store for him. WAHAHAHHAHAHAH)
Pecan ah ma's monkey? So resigned that it has zero expression.
So poor thing!
Mummy's note: To be honest, Sam is a stuffie-killer. A super effective one. Most of the toys I get wouldn't last him five minutes. The Kong toys, on the other hand, could last him up to as long as a week. So I guess it's still worth the investment. I just feel a tiny weeny bad for bringing yet another toy to be slaughtered by the fatty.
RIP Mon-Mon(S)....

Tissue for you?

Mummy: "Ah chooooooooooooooooo.."

"Need a tissue, Mummy?"
Give me a treat and I'll give it to you.

Made with Love - Dehydrated treats!!

The weekends came and left...
but we ain't complaining...because, Mummy spent it making yummy dehydrated treats for the two of us! (Hehe, and there are plenty of leftovers for the whole week!)

Anyway, we were extremely excited when Mummy told us what she had installed for us!
To begin with, she started by swinging by the supermarket to buy some fresh meat, which includes chicken gizzards, lean pork, sliced chicken fillet, pork and chicken liver!
She took some time out to slice them evenly.
The lean pork and liver sliced easily! But Mummy had a little trouble slicing up the chicken fillet the previous time, so she decided to get pre-sliced ones instead. They are a little thicker, thus require a longer time to dehydrate.
Anyway, a tip from my mother-in-law, Auntie Charmaine: freezing the meat slightly will make it easier and firmer to slice!
Once the prep work was done, Mummy simply put the trays in position and got the dehydrator working!
Mummy got the Open Country Pet treat maker from Amazon when we were still in NYC. (She also shipped back a transformer in order to use it in Singapore)
And the waiting game began.....

We checked on Mummy periodically to make sure that she has not forgotten it....
We waited....
and slept...
and waited... (while kinda sleeping)
The wait was a whooping EIGHT hours! It took so long that even Pecan ah ma got annoyed!
But boy, it sure was worth it...
Look how gorgeous the treats look!!!!!!!
*drools~*
#impressed
Of course, after such a long long long long loooooong wait, neither of us were in the mood for any photo taking.
Thankfully, Mummy understood...
The hungry dogs eyeing the freshly made chicken jerkies!
For our patience, we were given one of each!!!
We've to admit that the best of the lot was the thick chicken fillet!!!

Not only did we have our fill, there were plenty of treats left!!
So, Mummy kept them in our new treat storage containers and in the fridge they went!
Not only are these treats fresh and healthy, they are extremely affordable. It cost Mummy less than $10 for all these treats!!
If only there is a way to reduce waiting time.....
