Pecan puns...

My Godmummy Kitty bought me a Bread Bed recently!
#onlyihaveagodmummy #pecanandpippindonothave #hehehe #iamspecial
Not only does it fit us nicely (we bought the 60cm one!), the bed is really comfy.
And best of all, Mummy gets to come up with silly names while naming our pics.

It has been a year since.....

this smelly mouth, terror, senile ah ma, Pecan came into my life...
And there's not a day that goes by where I do not ask myself this question.
But the truth is...
she's here to stay.
FOR A WHILE.
#FML #whyamIstuckwithacrazyahma

Although this genki ah ma has slowly crawled her way into the 'supposed' senior years, (She's Eleven btw) she's still as active and happy as a young puppy.
#actyoung
As embarrassing as it may sound, I've to admit that there are many a time where I could hardly keep up with her.

When we first took Pecan home last year, we were given only two items - a bed and a toy.
Unfortunately, both items smelt as bad (if not worse) than her breath at that time.
#ahmahadkillerbreath #shecouldmakeyoufaintamileaway #thankgoodnessthosedaysarehistory
Hence, when Mummy became fairly confident that she had adapted to our home a couple of weeks later, she tossed those items away.
Truth was, she didn't even need a week to adapt. She stole my bed the very same day lor.
#buaypaiseh

Anyway, the items were so smelly that Mummy didn't even want to put it in the washer to revive them.
That being said, Mummy did feel kinda of bad about tossing out what little memories Pecan had.
Well, let put it this way. The bed didn't fit Mummy's act atas decor sense, so it wasn't missed at all.
But Mummy did regret tossing the toy away.
Unfortunately, she couldn't find an identical replacement. So, she tried to redeem herself by showering ah ma with tons and tons of annoying squeaky toys.
Hm...no wonder Pecan has more toys than me.
#lifenofair

So when Mummy chanced upon the exact toy when out for a shoot at The Wagington, she knew instantly that she just had to get it.
Besides, having an anniversary gift that can give Pecan something worth reminiscing about sounds pretty good.

Introducing Pecan and her "Sniffany & Co" toy.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAAH
#ahmacarriesfakegoods
And she loves it!
well...kinda...
I mean.. she was extremely fond of the treats that came along with her holding the toy. (Mummy had to bribe her with treats in exchange for a decent pic)
LOL!
To Mummy's disappointment, Pecan didn't quite take to the toy.
She much prefers her noisy latex squeaky toys that were littered on the ground.
Oh well... A+ for Effort, Mummy.
She dropped it shortly after the shot and went on to terrorize her poor Santa.
As for me, I decided to try my luck to fill my little belly by...
holding it too.
"oi.. I also got hold. Where's my treat?"
Although the surprise was a flop, I guess it was the thought that counts.
I'm sure Pecan appreciated the many treats she got!
#mylittlebellysaysthankstoo

You know...
I may always seem to complain about my tragic life after Pecan ah ma came into the picture, but with all due honesty, life with her around isn't all that bad.
While it certainly isn't a bed of roses, I do enjoy having her around to boss around, lay on, wrestle with and bark at.
Granted that the attention I got did get cut by half, the treats I went up ten fold!
HO HO HO....
(Ah ma is AMAZING at begging for treats with Grandmummy. She ALWAYS gets what she wants. Hehe, of course I benefit from that too..)
Besides, she has silently creeped into the hearts of everyone at home, even to that of our heartless Daddy.

So...maybe it isn't so bad if ah ma can stick around...
FOR A WHILE...
Welcome to our family once again Pecan ah ma.

Tissue for you?

Mummy: "Ah chooooooooooooooooo.."

"Need a tissue, Mummy?"
Give me a treat and I'll give it to you.

Pecan's BFF!

Pecan ah ma has a new best friend.
And it isn't me!
*Hengs man~*
#phew #NEVERFELTSORELIEVED
Can you imagine me having to engage in some granny talk with the grumpy old lady?!
(Like which veggie is the freshest, why are my boobs sagging.)
OMG.
*Shrugs* Thankfully, I am NOT her best friend.
Her new best friend... is actually..
DONUT!
Yap. It was the toy that Mummy bought ah ma to cheer her up during her recovery. While Mummy knew Pecan loves squeaky toys, she certainly wasn't expecting ah ma's obsession to her new Ferplast toy.
In fact, obsession is an understatement man.
Pecan ah ma is literally glued to Donut. And everywhere ah ma goes, Donut follows.
That includes our daily walks.
She just has to bring Donut EVERYWHERE!
Ah ma also refuses to let it go at all times during the walk.
Not even when she's peeing!!!!
How can you pee with something in your mouth?!?!!?
#unbelievable
The truth is.. it's a little paiseh (embarrassing) for me.
Since Ah ma started bringing Donut for walks, I realized that more and more people were staring at us and giggling while pointing at us.
#sopaisehcan
Of course, the crazy senile ah ma doesn't give a hoot about the stares we were getting.
It's like she's kinda trying to achieve the "I bring my toy everywhere" kinda thing.
And she finally let it go just for Mummy to take a "I'm been here" shot. Once the shot is taken, she would dash follow and grab Donut immediately.
-_-
#pawpalm
Oh and if you think that she will let it go at home, you are SOOOO wrong.
She even brings Donut along to greet Mummy when Mummy comes back from the Supermarket.
Oh oh..and to join in the celebrations for her biopsy results.
(And it was at Grandmummy's place by the way)
Like seriously~
To ensure that she drinks water, Mummy would take it away once in a while. And when Mummy does so, she would keep her eyes on it like a hawk.
Mummy was starting to get a little worried with ah ma's obsession. But thankfully, after a weekend of fussing over the silly yellow toy, ah ma finally took a break and released Donut from her jaws.
That being said, she just has to make sure that Donut doesn't leave her side.
#siaozhabor #ahmaisobsessed #theyellowtoyisdamnsmelly
Oh well, at least she's leaving me alone. Plus, when Mummy offers us a treat, Pecan has to take an extra second to put Donut down before heading for the biscuit. And you know what, that second makes a huge difference.
Hehehe... *pats my round tummy*

Mischief at work... failed.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer came by to visit.
And I was pretty happy about it.
So I did what I do best....
I ate it.
(Well, at least I tried)
Mummy saw it from the corner of her eye and screamed: "Nooooooooooooooooo Sam...'
So I spat it out and ran far away from the crime scene.
Phew~

Pecan certainly wasn't impressed and was in fact a little concerned that the reindeer might have been killed by my powerful jaws.
Wahahahhaah...*evil grin*
So Mummy did what she does best - resuscitate my 'dead' toys.
And guess what, he's alive again!
Pffff.. my evil ploy got ruined again.
At least someone is happy.

Pecan Woods Loo Lim

It's official.
I'm no longer the king of the household.
Mummy adopted (another) rough coat JRT over the weekend.
Introducing Pecan Woods Loo Lim.
Pecan is a feisty grumpy old lady (she's 9 btw!) and growls at most dogs. Miraculously, we get along. Well, not the wrestling and tugging kinda get-a-long, but the "hey, we are cool" kind. We follow each other around the house, walk side by side and beg for food together.
Yeah, granted that there are the occasional growls, but all is cool the moment I roll over and surrender.
(I guess rolling over on my back the very first time we met also helped seal the deal)
She's a little scrawny, so I look kinda fat beside her.
Sucks as I'm hearing talks behind my back that it's time for me to go for a diet.
Boooo!

Pecan is also a genki (healthy) ah ma! Mummy brought her to my favourite vet (Dr Vanessa) over the weekend and she's given the all clear! (Daddy's left with a hefty bill tho. Ho ho ho) The only problem is her horrid breath. (*Gags*) Thankfully, that can easily be fixed with a dental scaling session. (Which Mummy is a little worried about because of the GA, but it's something that has to be done) So, till she gets it done, no licking me!
Our current favourite activity - Nuaing (lazing) together!
I'm kinda looking forward to the potential damage we can achieve!
Stay in tune for our future mischief.

Mummy's note: I always wanted a second dog but wasn't actively searching for it. Pecan kinda came knocking on my door when a colleague mentioned that someone needs to rehome her JRT. Upon seeing the close resemblance to Sam, I just couldn't say no. Besides, I always wanted a senior. Hence, Pecan was a perfect fit. She came from a doting home (but owners really had no choice but to give her up) and it really shows through her confidence and affectionate personality. Unfortunately, she isn't extremely dog-friendly (but she loves people) and that's something we will have to work with. Other than that, she's housebroken and walks perfect on a leash (puts stupid fatty Sam to shame!). Guess I really couldn't ask for more!

PS: Thanks Char for the cute name suggestion!

ZUNY

Mummy bought a Zuny classic dog bookend for who-knows-what-reason and named it Zuny (Creativity at its best huh) . She explained that Zuny was meant to be a door-stopper, but since our contractor added a stopper on the main door, Zuny became jobless and a 'white elephant'.
Since then, mummy 'rehomed' Zuny and the little guy became a dust-collector shelf display.
We were never formally introduced and we pretty much minded our own business.
But, I always felt that he looked down on me (not just literally).
And for that, I was not pleased.
On a bright sunny afternoon, I decided that it was time to settle our scores.
I tried convincing him to come down for a "discussion" but he completed ignored me.
Now what?
I had to get him down, myself.
Despite X attempts, Zuny just seemed to be able to evade my death grips jaws and I could not get him down.
Seeing how annoyed and frustrated I was, heroic mummy decided to step in and got Zuny down to the couch.
There, we had a heart-to-heart, real dog-to-leather dog chat and decided that we could be friends after all.
And all was good... (yes, we even held hands)
Oh oh... and guess what, I found a new purpose in life for Zuny - my foot rest.
Foot rest Friends forever yo?

My Fresh Patch Experiment...

I'm potty trained.. indoors. Which means, I do my little businesses (big & small) at specific areas in the apartment. Mummy lays little pee pads on both bathroom floors and that's where I know I'm supposed to go. Every time after I go, I would 'announce' my achievement to my parents by jumping in front of them and wagging my tail. Mummy would then toss the pee pad that I went on before giving me a treat. After doing the math, my parents realized that per pee pad would cost them 20 cents. Not a lot, but it does add up.

Upon some research, mummy discovered a clever product called Fresh Patch. Fresh Patch is a disposable dog potty that is made of real grass. It's odor free and the urine gets absorbed easily. After a week or two of usage, it can simply be tossed away and a new patch can be ordered and delivered. Sounds cool? Hence, when mummy saw an offer on Fab.com, she decided to give it a try.

The patches are shipped out every monday and depending on which state you are in, the patches will arrive within a week. We got ours on a thursday.

Introducing fresh patch!

Just claiming what belongs to me.
It's Mine, mine, MINE!

It really smells like fresh grass.
(Maybe not that fresh since it has been in transit for 4 days.)

I was a tad bit apprehensive about the grass.

Sniffing to make sure it's safe.

After some encouragement for mummy, I decided to step in.

"Are you sure it's okay?"

Still a little unsure.

"So this is really mine?"

Mummy: "Yes."
Okie, I accept.

Sounds exciting?
Mummy was pretty excited and was hoping that this would replace the pee pads and reduce some cost.

Well... unfortunately, reality hurts. Not only did I not go on the fresh patch a single time, I started eating the grass. (LOL) So, after two weeks of experimentation, mummy decided that it was a failed attempt and decided to toss the patch away.

Damn..there goes my afternoon snack.
Boo~
Guess we are back to my 20 cents pee pads~

Dog Shaming..

Someone shared a link on facebook and got mummy interested. The link leads to a blog called Dogshaming which collates photos of dogs 'admitting' to their bad habits / behavior / secrets, pretty much just for laugh.
(How mean~ at our expenses..)
Yeah, I'm sure that teaches us a lesson.

The blog is really entertaining and mummy couldn't stop laughing at the photos she saw. And I think she came to realise that I'm actually not that terrible a dog. LOL, I seriously pale in comparison to the rest of the dogs.

But I am no angel (*grinz). Not surprising, mummy got motivated to 'shame' me and started thinking about my one big mischief.

So, here goes...

"I scratch the door (in protest) when my parents abandon me alone at home"
Oooh ooh... check out my achievement damage on the door.

Mummy wanted a guilty look so that I will appear that I'm repentant.

But the truth is...
I'm actually quite proud of my achievement!!
*HUGE GRIN*
Hence the shots below are more realistic representation of how I actually feel.

LOL, sorry mummy and daddy, the scratch is gonna get bigger the more you leave me at home alone, so think twice before you do it.
Ho ho ho ...
