Our Portfolios

While Pecan and myself don't really hold a job, we do enjoy participating in some commercial works now and then!
Besides, to be honest, most of the time even when we're working, it feels like play anyway!
So here's a short summary of the projects we took part in!

My debut at Pets Magazine!

Sam's first media party - Wagging Rights Singapore

When Mummy received an e-invite for a media event of a doggie daycare, we just had to say yes! After all, it was my very first event as a guest.
Wheeeeeeeeee...
Though the invite was extended to Pecan ah ma too, unsure of what other dogs might be there, Mummy decided to leave her at home to be safe.
Sorry ah ma! I'll have fun on your behalf yo?
Hehehe...

So off we went to....
Located at Joo Chiat, Wagging Rights is a wellness destination for dogs that includes a full suite of amenities such as grooming, daycare, pet-sitting, a pet concierge service, and special programmes for puppies and lazy dogs in need of exercise (erm..sounds abit like me).
#Iamnotfat #Iamjustbigboned
And oh boy, this place is huge!
In fact, it's bigger than our house!
Besides the reception area, it actually has three separate spaces - the puppy space, the actual daycare space and the grooming room.
#IneedricherparentstobuymeaBIGhouse
We were brought to the daycare space where I was allowed off-leashed.
And so, off I went to explore this fun space!
While the size of the area is rather comparable to many of the daycares I've been to in the states, I swear that none of them had anything this cool - A customised dog playground!
Without surprise, I took to it immediately.
#Ineedricherparentswhowillbuymeadogplayground
I had tons of fun running through, jumping off it and sitting on it!
What I loved most about it though, is the tunnels under.
I even spent a good while spying and waiting to pounce on unsuspecting dogs that run through the tunnel.
#samthecat
Too bad for me, no one fell for it... so I pretty much gave up and went back to playing and socializing.
#evilplanfailed
Another feature of the daycare that I loved is the fake grass turf for pee pee.
Feels just like the real thing!
(shhhhh.. in fact, it was so good that I even took a dump on it!)
And the added touch of the fire hydrant... brilliant.
Mummy and Daddy seriously needs to consider adding this somewhere at home - no more walking in the rain yo~
#winwinsituation
PS: I couldn't believe that Mummy actually asked me to sit on it for a photo...my backside smelt like pee for a while lor...
#mymummyisstupid
I was also drawn to the Drinkwell water fountain....
Nothing beats fresh water after a good round of play workout!
For the lazy pooches that don't get much exercise from wrestling or chasing other dogs, there's also a doggy treadmill to burn those calories!
Maybe Daddy should invest in one of these for us...hehe, so that he won't complain the next time he gets dragged for our long evening walks.
The best part about this being a media event for a doggie daycare, is the number of four-legged guests present!
Hehehe, we met so many friends (old and new)!
And what better way to greet them than to roll over...
#Samtheshamelessdog
To give me a breather, Mummy took me out of the play area, and together we attended an educational talk about cooking for your pets by the owner.
Hehe, hopefully Mummy will put those knowledge we gained to good use and help feel my round little belly.

FYI: Besides daycare services, Wagging Rights also prepares gourmet home-cooked meals for their customers.
So thoughtful!
Of course, we got to take some yummy food home too!
Dang, they sure know how to bribe a dog - through his tummy!
And no worries, the old one at home was given a portion too.
Besides free food, I was even given a press kit to take home.
So this is how a VIP feels...
I'm kinda liking it man...
Hehehe...
#samthefakecelebrity
Too bad this awesome place is a tad far from the uber ulu neighborhood we call home..(The drive was 30minutes!) else I'll definitely bug Mummy to bring me there ALL THE TIME.
#Ineedricherparentsthatbuymeahousenearby
Oh well, if you're lucky enough to stay in the vicinity, good for you.

Sam's Pick - Feed My Paws Treats~

When Auntie Crystle from Feed My Paws dropped us an email asking if we were keen to review her handmade treats, we just couldn't say no!
I mean, who in the right mind would say no to anything edible?!
Not us for sure...
She was really awesome and asked us to pick whatever we wanted. So, we spent the entire evening glancing through the website (drooling while doing so) and pointed at EVERY SINGLE ITEM.
Seeing how greedy we were, Mummy sighed and proceeded to let Auntie Crystle decide what she wants us to try.
Booooooooooo~ Mummy sucks!
As we don't have any allergies and would eat anything that comes our way, Auntie Crystle offered to let us sample some of her bestsellers. (Fret not if you suffer from any food allergies as you can customize your very own treats using ingredients that you can eat!)

And when the treats arrived at home, we could not believe our eyes!
There were so many yummy looking snacks JUST FOR US!!!
*Wriggly dance*
#soimpressed
We were so excited!!!
Just look at how happy ah ma is!
We were really spoilt for choice and almost couldn't decide which to start with!

We hate to say this, but Mummy's homemade treats really really pale in comparison to the Feed My Paws' treats. Not only were they fresh and crunchy, they smelt great (even from a mile away). In fact, Daddy kept hovering around us looking at the animal cookies and reminiscing how much it reminded him of his childhood snacks.
We ended up having to chase him out of the kitchen lest he steals a couple.
#myprecious

Besides delicious-looking treats, a lot of thought was also given when packing the treats! On top of a resealable packaging, it comes with an 'expiry' date label. This reminder is great for bubble-brains like Mummy. (Shhh...don't tell anyone but half the products in our fridge are either moldy or expired!) Plus, we were really impressed how long these treats could last. Most of them can be refrigerated for up to a month!
We couldn't wait to get started with our tasting!
I quickly got into my 'pray' position and hoped for the best.
It sure felt like eternity before the tasting commence...

Anyway, we started with the Cheesy Chompers. Of course we loved it!!!!
But the best part of this treat had to be the fact that it came in the form of a Hello Kitty head!!!!!
YESH.
I can finally eat a cat!
#dreamcomestrue
When Mummy said yes, I was over the moon!!!!
Now you see it...
now you don't!
Pecan ah ma is officially a cat-eater!!!!!!!
Just when we thought that eating Hello Kitty will be the best thing we ever did, we moved on to the animal cookies!!!
I got to eat an elephant, a lion (RAWRRRR~~), a zebra and a giraffe!!
There's a safari in Sammy's tummy right now!!!!
How brilliant is that!
Oh oh ...and it's the first time in our lives that we tasted Carob. Of course, it passed our taste tests and we are officially fans now!
Moving on....

The beef lungs (middle) were extremely crisp and Mummy was really impressed that it looked every bit like the commercially made ones.
Likewise, the pork jerky and pork & apple cinnamon bones scored full marks on our taste test too.
But we've to admit that the highlight of our night was none other than the....
The size of the mini cupcakes was just perfect for our supper! Hence, me and Pecan ah ma got to chomp one down each!
We couldn't take our eyes off the cupcakes.
"Can please stop taking photos and just let us eat?!"
And off we went...
We loved food and homemade ones even more. While we adore what Mummy usually makes for us, we've to admit that these treats from Feed My Paws were out of the world!!!! It looked great and tasted equally satisfying! Although our little tummies were bulging from all the tasting (we probably ate at least three of each type), Mummy wasn't the least worried as these treats were nutritional and healthy!

Thank you Auntie Crystle and Feed My Paws for giving us the opportunity to do a review!
Hehehehe.. my first review leh~
*Smug face*
That being said, I'm pretty sure Mummy is gonna be a regular customer from now on!! Me and ah ma are already looking through the menu to identify what we want next!!!!

Behind the scenes...

Blogging is no easy task.
And I've to do it all by myself. While Mummy is the officially lousy photographer and the idea spinner, I have to do all the editorial work myself.
That being said, Mummy does lend me a hand occasionally (usually for Mummy's notes). As for Daddy, he just doesn't give a hoot.

Thankfully, writing entries after entries is not at all a challenge for my smart little brain.
But what I do require is a little privacy while my paws type away.
I mean, nothing beats silence and being left alone for my creative juices to flow.

Obviously Mummy thinks otherwise.
zzzzz
Shall try to ignore her and continue to proof-read my entry...
But it just doesn't feel right with a pair of eyes constantly looking at me.
Grrrrrr...
Luckily, Mummy got my hint and decided to leave me alone for the next thirty minutes..
and Viola~
A new entry is up!
Done!
A happy less grumpy Sam!
It's tough being a dog blogger.
But I've to admit, the rewards are so worth my every effort.

Sam the Dog Model

(Source: petsmagazine.com.sg)

It sure is tough being this cute!

In case you are wondering, I was the dog model for a spread in pets Magazine!
And, if you would like to find out what I was posing for, grab a copy of pets (issue Feb/Mar 2014) now!

PS: This is the BEST job ever! I was paid in TREATS!
Can you believe it?!

It's PAYDAY!!!

Well, while this is somewhat overdue (oabout 2 months late), but.. I've just (physically) received my very first paycheck!!!!!

*Wriggly dance*
Now I can finally get my paws on that awesome toy I've been eyeing and that yummy treat that I've been drooling about..
*Beams~*

Just when I was basking in joy, Daddy (as usual) had to be a wet (soaked more like it) blanket and burst my little bubble!
And no surprises, I swear he was gloating too..
rawrrrrr~

Apparently I was told that I had already advanced my paycheck 1.5 months ago on that fateful day when Mummy made a trip to the pet food supplier and bought god-knows-what.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~

Shaking my head in disbelief....
What it means is that when this cheque (my precious~~) is cashed, every single cent of it is going to go into Daddy's bank account.
Yap, my life sucks and I've money sucking parents .

Oh well, nonetheless, it IS my first paycheck, and despite my uber 'buay song-ness' (means unhappy), here's a photo to commemorate.
Mental Note to self: I need to set up my own bank account and manage my own finances...
Sigh~

All in a day's work...

I'm officially a grown up.
Why?
Cos' after 3+ years off leeching of a rather grumpy ill-fated sweet daddy, I finally earned my own keep. *Ka-ching ka-ching*
Mummy's colleague found me a PAID modeling gig - I got to film a promotional video for a soon-to-launch condo! While the video won't be aired on TV, it will be on facebook and youtube!
Good enough, good enough.
My parents were more excited about the gig than I was! In fact, mummy ordered daddy to take leave for the day to accompany me. LOL

After enduring a horrid bath and an equally bad thorough brushing the night before, we set out for the shoot on a lovely sunny morning!
It was a looooong drive and I had no idea why the hell I was when we arrived.
Mummy initially thought that it was going to be an indoor shoot in the showroom or something like that, hence she was a little startled when she realised that the shoot was taking place at Sengkang riverside park. I could see mummy panicking for a moment.

Mummy's note: For a moment, I was quite worried that they might request an off-leash shoot. Then, halilujah liao. -_- Yes, this piece of shit cutie is HORRID off-leash. I swear I was 'praying pretty hard' that that wasn't required.

As we arrived way ahead of schedule, my parents decided to use the free time to let me explore the park and just breathe in the lovely fresh air.
As gorgeous as the day seemed, it was actually a tad bit warm for my liking. After a short while, we decided to hide under some pavillion. Awesome mummy prefreezed my bottle last night and as a result, I was able to have refreshing brain-freeze water to cool me down.
Mummy is da best!
Of course, I spent a little while practising my killer smile.
(Which came in extremely handy!)
The setup was really simple, just two human actors (one was mediacorp actor Zen Chong), a director, a camera man and two helpers. Of course, not forgetting the dashing dog model. (ME!!!)
And to mummy's huge relief, all I needed to do was walk well on a leash. That's all, or so she thought (we will get there later).
In addition, well-prepared mummy brought one of my squeeky toys along and that totally helped.
I'm generally food-oriented, but can be ultra play-oriented at times. I was so excited that I actually rejected my favourite treat. Lucky mummy brought along a toy to grab my full attention.
Hee, how's my acting?!
Convincing?
After approximately ten minutes of filming (approximately 6-7 takes with varying actions), the human actors left to prepare for the next scene (which didn't require me).  That was when the director made a special request and asked mummy if they could film a running shot of me.
Haaa...
And guess what, something miraculous happened. Mummy took a uber huge leap of faith and said yes! Before I could get over the shock and the confidence mummy had in me, off went the hook and I was off-leash~
In case you are wondering, professional Sammy Loo did not run off. I stayed put and focused on the squeeky toy mummy was holding.
And I was the best dog I could ever be for the next ten minutes - before I gave up in exhaustion and sat down refusing to move. By then, the director and camera man were satisfied with the takes and I was off work!

As mummy wanted to concentrate in making me the best dog model as possible (and probably be on-the-go just in case I bolt), she didn't actually take a lot of behind-the-scenes shot and did not manage to capture any off-leash shots.

I was initially scheduled for a two hour slot of filming, but talented little me had it done within 30 minutes!
But I was absolutely pooped by then.
Sigh, didn't realise that working was so tiring.
Guess that's it for now. I'm gonna take my time to recuperate before finding my next job.

Meanwhile, if you want me paw-autograph, just drop me an email k?
