Couch Potatoes~

While our parents are far from being workaholics (Daddy is way closer than our lazy mummy), it's not everyday where the whole family gets home before the sun sets and just do nothing but watch TV.
Lucky for us, today is one such awesome day!

Daddy loves the cooling floor and would usually choose a spot between the couch and dining table where he gets the chance to work on his war hammies while watching the show.
Mummy, of course, claims the full couch.
As for us?
We drag our daybed to the front of the couch and place it right in front of the TV!
Definitely the best spot in the house.
Can you guess what we are watching from the reflection?
Hehe...
Actually, our parents are closet 'Wheel of Fortune' junkies!
We are happy campers!
Looking forward to more movie nights!

Mummy's Nth Shopping Spreeeee~

Huge parcels arrived at our doorsteps today.
And judging by past experiences, there must be something awesome inside for us.
We put on our best behaviour for the night and waited impatiently for our surprises...
And after dinner, our gifts unfold one after another.

It started off with something kinda blah...
We already had the khaki one, but Mummy wanted to get one for our own ride.
Boring~ Next please.
Mummy's next purchase was a Canine Friendly Pet First Aid Kit!
Not only does it come in a nice and compact packaging, it is equipped with items we need in case of an emergency. There's a First aid instruction manual as well!
In fact, Daddy the medic was pretty impressed and commented that our first aid kit is even more comprehensive than the human ones they have at home.
#thingscrazymumsbuy
Thankfully those were the only crappy items since they were of very little value to us.
Best of all, the rest of the purchase were rather amazing!

A purchase for us will never with completed without a toys. And of course, Mummy knew that. Thus, she got us an IQ toy - Hide-A-Bee Plush toys!
We loved it! Although she only bought one, it came with a hive and 3 little buzzy bees. Hence, there were more than enough to go around!
We each caught a bee and made 'friends' with it!
My bee kinda lost it's wings after a while. Hehehe.
Pecan's bee was still intact, but extremely slimy.
Yucks~
Just when we were getting a little tired after all the fun, Mummy whipped out the next two items - our very own Jax and Bones Crypton Cozy Dog Mats
We ain't the world's cleanest eaters and love leaving little crumbs (and drool) here and there on our (and our parent's) beds.
No doubt Mummy got pretty fed up having to change her sheets often. Therefore, she decided to purchase washing machine friendly dog mats for us to chew our treats on!
Not only are they easy to clean and pretty to look at, they are super comfy too!
So, we totally approve!
The last purchase was so apt for us lor.
Especially since rolling in dirt is one of our favourite activities!
Mummy got us Dirty dog doormats!
Its microfiber material makes it super absorbent of water and even dirt! And the texture is so comfy to step and roll on! We also have a horrible habit of rubbing on fabric surfaces after our weekly bath. As a result, Mummy got these for us to prevent us for rubbing ourselves dry on her couch or bed in future. Plus, by placing it right outside the loo, she can also dry off her feet after using the bathroom.
Clever huh?
Especially since we loved it so much that Mummy had to chase us away after she first laid it on the floor.
Pecan ah ma absolutely adores it and she would actually head over to it every morning for her routine morning rub.
As for me, I'm pretty much on it for the rest of the day, so if you are looking for me, I'm right outside the toilet ey?

Cartoon Pecan!

Pecan's portrait finally made its way from my homeland (USA) to Singapore! And Mummy was really delighted to see it!

The proud ah-ma showing off her cartoon version!
Of course I cannot lose,
so here's a photo of adorable me and my even more adorable cartoon portrait.
hmph~
Ain't we cute?
Somehow ah-ma decides that her best angle is her right profile.
I don't quite agree but she wasn't very receptive to my suggestion.
Anyway, as promised, Mummy went ahead and made magnets using ah ma's drawing.
So, here's her and her magnets and a distracting strand of hair belonging to Daddy on the floor.
#mummyneedstosweepmoreoften
Spot us on the fridge!
Mummy's planning to frame our portraits together and hang them on the wall.
Can't wait to see the outcome!

Sam the Dog Model

(Source: petsmagazine.com.sg)

It sure is tough being this cute!

In case you are wondering, I was the dog model for a spread in pets Magazine!
And, if you would like to find out what I was posing for, grab a copy of pets (issue Feb/Mar 2014) now!

PS: This is the BEST job ever! I was paid in TREATS!
Can you believe it?!

Jager and I!

One of my favourite friends in Singapore is...
JAGER!!!
I'm so fond of him that I would run up to him and shower him with kisses the moment we meet.
And of course, roll over my back too.
In fact, we play so much that our parents kept joking that we are a couple!

One of my little known quirks is that I've a tendency to snap at bigger dogs who step on me accidentally.
But somehow, Jager, despite being almost four times my size, is such a gentle giant that Mummy never once had to worry that we would end up in a squabble.

Although we have known each other for almost a year now, this is probably the first few good photos of us!
Hehe, stupid Mummy actually said that we looked like we are shooting our bridal shots (Jager is the groom in tux while I'm the bride in white).
Like wtf...

It's a Doggie Pool Party!

Mummy chipped in with Auntie Charmaine (aka my mother-in-law) and bought us a...
It's actually meant for kids but it works great for dogs too!
*Wriggly dance*
Auntie Charmaine had wanted to get one for her boys, Snowy the Golden Retriever and Jager the Alusky! So, Mummy, thinking that it was a brilliant idea, decided to share the cost. Plus, Auntie Charmaine has a lovely front garden that had ample space for the pool!
It certainly reminded me of the good old NYC dog park days where we got a lovely dog pool each summer to combat the heat! Hence, I was wayyy over the moon when Mummy told me what was happening!
Auntie C, ya the best!

Let's get the party started!!

It took the adults about ten minutes to assemble it and probably another ten to fill the pool.
Pecan ah ma was the first to realise what was going on and certainly couldn't hide her excitement.
In fact, she was so excited about it then she happily hopped in even before the pool was filled.
Yap, so the bikini ah ma got the first dip.
Booooo~
Of course I couldn't lose out and embarked on my rescue missions almost immediately!
Kudos to Mummy for bringing our toys!
Although Snowy might be the one few rare Goldies that hate to swim in deep waters, he seemed to really like just cooling down in the pool!
On the other hand, the love of my life, Jager, was quite a loser took a while.
I mean, to his defence, Aluskies (Huskies and Malamutes) ain't really water dogs.
So he spent most of the time standing far away, staring in disbelief at our love for water.
In fact, he hated it so much that he actually hid in the house for a while.
But that's nothing true love cannot resolve.
With some coaxing from me, he took his first step into the pool and never looked back.
He actually loved it so much that he kept coming in on his own, even without anyone's prompting!
#thepoweroflove
Okay~ I exaggerate.
The truth was... he was lured in by his toy.
But hey, whatever works k.
While Jager could effortlessly stroll in to the pool (Snowy had to be carried in as he's a sweet old man with weak limbs), it was a little high for me and the grumpy ah ma, Pecan.
But being the athletic dog I always am, I easily hopped in and out.
Mummy had to constantly give ah ma a hand to get in.
We pretty much spent our whole afternoon rescuing toys!
And boy did it feel good under the hot sun!
The adults were so envious that they nearly wanted to dip in with us, until they saw how the water turned from clear to murky.
Hehe, yap, Mummy didn't bathe us for a good week prior to the pool party!
Tsk tsk tsk.
Of course, like kids, we had our moments of disagreements.
Snowy ah peh took up so much space, that when Mummy tossed my toy, it landed on his back!
After a little shuffling and compromise, it worked out great!
Deciding between rescuing the stingray and the elephant.
#lifedecisions
As usual, being Jack rascals, we were also barking our lungs out constantly, trying to convince the adults to do the rescue for us.
Sorry Auntie Charmaine! We sure hoped nobody complains about our lovely vocals!
The awesome party lasted a couple of hours and we were loving every second of it.
And as life always is, good things come to an end.
A shitty end, aka bath time.
After which, we were given tons of delicious treats!!
The adults also attempted to snap a good shot to commemorate our first pool party.
But unfortunately, failed.
(Snowy looked so pissed and ah ma refused to let go of the treat that was supposed to be the lure!)
LOL
Despite Jager being camera ready all the time, the adults gave up after numerous tries.
Haha, it sure is a challenge getting four pooches to cooperate!
Nonetheless, we had a blast!!
And Mummy was pretty glad to see two happy sparkling clean dogs (oh, and dead tired too) after the party!
We are certainly looking forward to our next pool party!
Hopefully, it comes with a lovely BBQ dinner too!
THANK YOU MUMMY AND AUNTIE CHARMAINE!
Oh oh, and Auntie Lynne and Auntie JY for snapping some lovely shots and playing with us.
PS: Sorry for damaging your ear drums for the afternoon!

Our ride..

Pecan and I are like the grand(fur)kids that will never grow up.
Hence, our daily arrangement goes like this - we get dropped off at Grandmummy's place (just five minutes ride away) in the morning when my parents leave for work. They will bring by and pick us up after work and bring us home.
The plan works well as it means that we will never be home alone for an extended period of time. (Grandmummy's domestic helper will walk us every few hours)

All is great, except for one tricky part - My parents are leeches and are sharing a car with Grandmummy.
While it usually works out and my parents will take the car home in the evening and drive over in the morning, there are times when Grandmummy will need the car in the evenings and she will end up parking it at her place. As a result, she has to swing by to pick us up in the next morning.
And boy, do we hate it!
Cos she is ALWAYS LATE!
Despite agreeing on 7am as the pick up time, Grandmummy would dilly dally and drive by only around 7.20am!
Tsk tsk tsk. So annoying, especially when we would hurry up to finish our little 'businesses' on time.

As usual, she was late again today...
Zzzzzzz...
And we were not happy~
But guess what, after wednesday, this is not gonna happen again!!!!!
Hehe, yap, something exciting is brewing!
Meanwhile, shhhh...

Our Green hike at the Green Corridor

For the first time in a very very blue moon, Mummy decided that she wanted to go for a hike with us. And of course, Daddy could not say no.
Hence, on a very bright Saturday morning, she woke up and dragged two sleepy dogs and one very sianz husband out of the house at 8.30am! (SHE NEVER WAKES UP BEFORE TEN ON SATURDAYS! THIS IS A MIRACLE)
Our destination was none other than Green Corridor! Mummy had heard great things about it from other dog owners and finally decided to explore the place for herself!

The Green Corridor used to be a railway land connecting Singapore and Malaysia. After the train stations were relocated, the railway line began defunct. While plans on what to do with the space is still underway, in the meantime, it has been converted into an awesome cycling and pedestrian path connecting many green spaces together!

For a start, we decided to challenge the Bukit Timah Train Station-Holland Road stretch of the Green Corridor. We got Grandmummy to drop us off at Holland Road and arranged for pick up at KAP in two hours time. The expected duration was an hour. But taking into consideration how much we loved to pee and mark every single spot we sniff, our parents decided to play it safe and overestimate.

It took Daddy just a few mintues to figure out the entry point onto the route! (We walked in via Ulu Pandan Road)
All geared up and ready to cheong (go forward).
Pecan ah ma acting like she is ready to sprint on and was all ready in her sprint start position.
Crazy dog.
As for me, I was all zen and calm.
Off we went~
As I was an awesome and very very good boy today, my parents decided to let me off-leash for a good part of the hike!
YEAH~~~~
The trail had tall bushes on both sides, hence, my parents weren't the least worried that I would wander off track. In addition, they did have some really yummy treats!
And I did them proud by returning all but once when they called.
The one time I chose not to was when I started chasing and playing with another off-leashed dog who was wayyyy more entertaining than my boring parents.
Daddy had to chase after me and (lucky for him, but shitty for me) he stopped me just as I was about to slam myself into a muddy puddle just as the other dog did!
Boooo~
Well, at least Mummy had a good laugh! (So did a couple of passerbys)
Ah ma isn't very dog-friendly (trust me, she's a bitch to everyone else except me. HAHAHAH! Me and my charms.. sigh~). So, for safety reasons, she was kept on leash all the way. Nonetheless, she was really contented with that!
I took occasional breaks in between to appreciate the nature.
Fine..the truth was my stamina sucked~
To my defence, I did spend a good part of my time hopping for one shaded area to another. My parents and ah ma were so slow lor. They obviously couldn't keep up.
Haiz~ So I guessed I did deserve all the little power breaks.
Of course, ah ma got some breaks too.
But her stamina was amazing! It was as if she could walk forever.
Scary~
After about 45 minutes, we finally reached Bukit Timah Train Station!
And we started looking out for the train!!!
After a while, we were a little puzzled why there was still no train..

Daddy: It's defunct by the way.
Sammy: Say what~ Chey, I just wasted my time looking out for nothing.
Pecan: Lalalallal~

Booooo~

Oh well, I'll just plank on the tracks then.
Despite the disappointment (of not being able to hitch a train ride), we had some fun playing around the tracks!
We walked on and arrived at our destination fairly quickly!
(KAP is just to the left of the bridge.)
While Macdonalds breakfast was enticing, doing fun stuff was even better!
So, no surprises, but we decided to explore the bridge instead!
We checked out the passing traffic and peed on one too many spots.
Hehehe..
What a sense of satisfaction~
As we only took just slightly over an hour, my parents decided that we should walk more.
We ended up at Rail Mall an hour later, half-dead (my parents as well).

We definitely have to say that the hike was amazing! Although the weather was a little warmer than we would have liked, all the greenery, fresh air and off-leashed time won rave reviews from me, ah ma and even daddy!!
So, no surprises but we are foreseeing more morning hikes on weekends at the Green Corridor!!
