Hi Shelly

Hi Shelly
Hi Shelly

Oh my Sherman

Oh my Sherman
Oh my Sherman

Here comes 2015!

Yap, yet another year has come and gone.
There were some ups and downs in 2014, but overall, I think we did pretty alright.
So, we are hoping that 2015 will treat us equally well, if not better.

What better way to kick start the new year than to conform to the norm...
by setting New Year Resolutions!
Creativity at its best...not.
#samandpecanonthebandwagon #lightbulbmoment

Here goes...

1. Stop Lao-sai-ing (diarrhoea)
Sad to say, both me and Pecan ah ma have been having non-stop runs for the past 1.5weeks.
Sigh~
It's like a Merlion out of our butts.
#mybacksidepainliao #ahmashitslikesheisvomittingoutofherarse
After Mummy's failed home-remedies (pumpkin, boiled chicken and brown rice did nothing to help), she gave in and brought us to the vet.
So, the two of us are currently on ID food and a strict no-treats diet. Not to mention yucky meds.
Sigh. What a shitty way to celebrate the new year.
#bekindtoourbutts
So...please please please... GO AWAY STUPID STOMACH BUGS!
PS: Thanks Auntie Lynne for the unglam photo -_-

2. Go for another dog-friendly staycation
We're trusting Mummy to keep her promise on this!
More importantly, we're also hoping that more hotels would open their doors to adorable four-legged guests like us!
#sayyestodogsinhotels

3. Resume our weekly pet-friendly brunch dates!
Going for weekly brunches at places that I'm welcomed was a family custom that unfortunately came to a sudden halt when the then-grumpy Pecan came into our family.
!@#!@$!%!^$
#sambearsgrudges
Now that our parents are becoming increasingly confident that Pecan ah ma can behave at pet cafes, I sure am hoping that Mummy and Daddy would resume our practice soon!
#pleasepleaseprettypleasewithicingontop

4. Continue our swimming missions
Yes, we admit... we have a swimming addiction.
#dogswimaholics
Seeing Mummy pack for our swims has to be the highlight of our week - Pecan ah ma will burst into a happy dance, while I start trotting around the house in joy.
So, this is one thing that we definitely wanna continue!
#samthesauveswimmer #pecantheoldmermaid
Of course, as much as we love the pool at Sunny Heights, we really won't mind if we can head to the beach for some wave-chasing too once in a while too!

5. Win back my position in the Loo Lim household
RAWRRRRR~
This resolution comes as a challenge to a particular senile old ah ma.
My 'Top Dog' position has been threatened since the day she came into the picture.
From hogging my beds, snatching my toys to stealing my belly rubs, this ah ma has taken over my position.
And I am not happy about that.
This 2015, I'm going to put my paws down and win back my position.
You watch out... Pecan Woods.
I'm coming.
#myactfiercefacescaryhor #nowyouknowhowfierceicanbe

Gonna put in 101 percent to achieve my resolutions.
Stay tuned to watch my success!
Wahahahhahaha....

Meanwhile,
Happy New Year, y'all~

A special gift for Pecan...

While Mummy was doing her Christmas shopping, she came across something that she thought was extremely apt for ah ma.
And when she showed Daddy, he gave out a loud laugh and agreed to pay for it.

Here's Pecan ah ma's second X'mas present.
A Baby Gap Bib to catch her stinky drool.
LOL...
#thiskindoflousypresentIalsodontwant
But again, Pecan isn't as practical as I am.
#Samnofoodnohappy
And she seems pretty pleased to receive the pressie!
Sadly, this does NOTHING to prevent her drooling.
The last I checked, there were some drool stains on the couch.
Yucks.

Sam's welcomed: Pet-friendly Ah B Cafe

After months and months of anticipation, the Ah B Cafe is finally opened!
Woohoo~
If you're wondering what it is, it's actually a pet-friendly cafe that is located in Sunny Heights (where we swim every weekend).
As happy as we are, I think Mummy's more excited. After all, there's finally a nice place for her and Daddy to have brunch at before being dragged to the pool by us.
The decor of the place is really simple and clean and we took to it immediately.
Mummy's really pleased that it's extremely spacious too.
Although the washroom is outside, the cafe has a sink areas for the humans to wash their hands, making it really convenient.
We quickly made ourselves at home.
Besides the usual table and chairs, there's a separate (shoes off) seating area that consists of comfy beanbags!
We even managed to fit into one.
#Iamstuck #Iknowwhatyouarethinkingmummybutwedonotneedabeanbagathome
Unfortunately, the food menu is kinda limiting and there weren't many options. Plus, we were there a tad early and the soup Mummy wanted wasn't ready.
Nonetheless, Mummy was quite pleased with the Teriyaki Chicken that she settled for and Auntie Andrea (Grandmummy's helper that tagged along) was equally happy with her Ah B Burger.
Ah B Cafe doesn't offer pet food, but hey~ Pawlicious is just next door. So, pet owners just have to head over to order some yummy chow or treats for their furkids.
As Mummy and Auntie Andrea enjoyed their lunch, Pecan ah ma and myself simply wandered around the entire cafe, greeting the friendly staff while waiting for an opportunity to escape and run to the pool.
Sam the camper waiting for a chance to scoot off to the pool.
Too bad for me, those who came through it were extremely cautious and I didn't have a single chance to 'escape'.
Boooooo~
#Samtheopportunist #whynooneopendoorforme #wewannaswim
Not only is it really spacious inside, there's a huge outdoor area for us to stretch our paws too.
Plus, we love that Pawlicious Bakery shares this area as well.
HEHEHEE, it means that we'll have a chance to beg for some treats from Auntie Jaster and Uncle Burn.
Of course, the lovely lunch ended with a trip to the pool to complete our rescue missions.
#Howcanweleavewithoutaswim #theswimaddicts

Mummy's note: I'm super excited that we have yet another pet cafe in the vicinity! Furthermore, it's really convenient for us too. The ambience is really nice and there's ample space for the dogs to roam (another PLUS). Although the food is decent, there weren't many options to choose for. Hopefully that's something that will be improved upon. After all, it's only their first week of operation. In the meanwhile, I'm pretty sure that Saturday brunch will a tiny weeny bit more exciting for us now.

Merry X'mas to us!

If I can have it my way...
This would be how I wanna spend my X'mas - Eating snow.
Okay, I admit, and also peeing on it.
Nothing satisfies me as much as creating a yellow piece of art on a white canvas.
HEHEHEHEHE
#peeingonsnowisdamnshiok #Ihavethepowertomeltsnowinstantly
It kinda sucks that I can't do it anymore.
#FML
Oh well, I'll just make do.
Besides, my parents don't actually have the habit of celebrating Christmas.
In fact, they hardly celebrate anything. (Other than our birthdays!)
#myparentsareboring
And there's a no Christmas tree policy in this household and the reason is pretty simple.
Cos Sammy Loo loves to pee on trees.
HEHEHEHEHEHE
#whynogivemechancetopeeonachristmastree

Even though we did not have an out-of-the-world Christmas, Mummy did attempt to make Christmas a tiny weeny bit more exciting for us!
For a start, we were given an awesome beef and salmon half log cake from Pawlicious!
Ho ho ho....
We decided to do a little role-playing to add on to the non-existent festive vibes.
I'm Sam the Reinterrier and Pecan ah ma is the.... "I'll just wear a random winter hat to pass off as I'm celebrating X'mas"... erm... Santa's helper.
After we filled our little bellies with some delicious cake, we got around to receiving our Christmas pressies.
In the form of Martingale Collars from Dog + Bone!
I wasn't too impressed with the presents tho.
Posing with yet another new collar.
#givingmybuaysongexpressioninprotest #thesenileahmaisalwayshappy
After which, we got around to helping Mummy with some last minute Christmas gift wrapping.
(Even tho they don't celebrate, Daddy's family will have a simple get-together. Plus, they have a practice of gifting everyone a present.)
We were delegated the task of cutting Christmas gift labels.
#whywenohaveopposablethumbs
We also aided in sticking the labels.
I wasn't very pleased to learn that NONE of the items here was for me.
#howcanlikethat #lifenofair
I think ah ma didn't get the memo about that.
#stupidahmaistoonaive
Sadly, we couldn't attend the celebration and were left to rot at Grandmummy's place.
Oh well, at least our parents came back with some gifts FOR US!
WHEEEEEEE~
That definitely put a smile on my sulky face.
That pretty much sums up our 'oh-so-boring' X'mas.
But oh well, at least our tummies were satisfied.
Last but not least,
Hey, it's not too late k.
After all, there are twelve days of Christmas right?

PS: It took Mummy three hours to figure out how to use Photoshop to do the Christmas Greeting.

Dog-friendly Staycation at Conrad!

Edited: Unfortunately, Conrad is no longer dog-friendly wef 1 August 2017. We're heartbroken that we have one less staycation option, but at least we had a great time there.
Thanks again to all the Conrad staff that made our stay so memorable.

After having a blast at last year's Capella Staycation, Mummy decided to make a dog-friendly staycation a yearly affair at the Loo Lim Household!
woohoo~
#scored #thankgoodnessmummywearsthepantsinthishousehold #luckystingydaddyhasnosay
As much as we would love to head back to the heavenly Capella, they do have a one-dog only policy (boo~) and we really don't want to resort to smuggling Pecan ah ma in. (Especially since we ain't the quietest dogs around when there's a pool involved)
Hehehe.
Instead, we decided to head to a hotel that allows two dogs.
Unfortunately, we really don't have many options.
In fact, there's only two in Singapore - Hilton Singapore and Conrad Centennial Singapore. (They are actually under the same hotel chain)
Both permit up to two dogs (weighing no more than a combined weight of 34kg) in a room.
There's a catch though. A one-time pet cleaning fee is applicable. Although Conrad's charge of $120 is significantly higher than that of Hilton ($50), Mummy decided to go for that as she had stayed before and really liked the location. To ensure that there was ample space for the four of us, our parents decided to pamper themselves by booking a small suite.
The truth was, we don't really care. The moment Mummy started packing for the stay, I went nuts and super excited! Pecan ah ma, on the other hand, was just confused.

Our check-in time was after 2pm. Even though we arrived around 2.30pm, we were rather disappointed to learn that our room wasn't ready as the wedding couple who was occupying it before us only just checked out.
#Iguesstheyhadtoomuchfun #heyhey~
Mummy wasn't too pleased that we had to hang around in the lobby for about an hour and was a little surprised that there wasn't any other suites for us to check into immediately.
As for us, we were pretty cool just chilling at the nice carpet in the lobby.
Well, that was until Pecan ah ma decide to bark at a luggage.
-_-"
And with that, our parents decided to bring us for a walk around the area.
It was when we finally returned and were brought to our room that Mummy realised why they made us wait for the room, rather than give us another suite.
We actually got upgraded from a 1-bdrm Executive Suite to a 1-bdrm Presidential Suite.
Holy cow~ The presidential suite supposedly cost almost 3grand a night!!!!
So, we got a pretty good deal!
#goodthingsarecertainlyworthwaitingfor #thisisbetterthanstrikingtoto #maybenot
The suite was ginormous!
(The truth was...it's bigger than our own apartment!)
#ineedricherparents
And the view was..... awesome.
It was world aparts from our view at home! (We face a multi-storey carpark at home. Exciting much.)
No wonder we were blown away by it.
#jawdrop
We loved the view so much that we actually spent a fair amount of time just staring out of it, checking out the moving cars (they looked like ants!).
Conrad's pet-friendly perks came in the form of a door sign, a chew toy and a good solid bowl for us.
We really appreciated having the sign on the door. However, we felt that it barely made any difference as the service providers we encountered over the course of our stay continued to ring the bell as per normal. So of course, that triggered our barking a fair bit.
Thankfully the walls were thick enough to buffer that.
#hengnevertiocomplain
(One particular hotel I stayed in while in the US actually made it a point to not ring the bell or knock on the door when they know that there is a pet in the room. When we ordered room service there, they actually phoned to inform us that they are at the door. Pretty thoughtful I must say.)
I took to the rope toy immediately and got into a good game of tug.
Pecan ah ma wasn't too fond of it but lucky for her, she found her own toy in the form of the Conrad bear!
Although the perks didn't include a dog bed, it really didn't matter to us.
After all, those who know us, will know that the Loo Lim dogs only sleep at one place - the actual bed.
The bed may be a little too high for us to hop on to it, but that was hardly an issue.
Once we got on it, we refused to get off.
#comfytothemax
And again, worse come to worse, there's always the tub.
Hehe, just kidding. Our parents wouldn't dare to confine us to the loo lor.
They better not...
Grrrrrrrr
Besides, there were so many sofas in the suite for us to couch surf.
There clearly was no lack of space to sleep.
Staycations are nothing new to me. Can't say the same for Pecan ah ma though.
She was clearly confused for the better half of the first day and appeared a little unsure of why she was here.
As a result, she ended up following me around a fair bit.
By the evening, she was pretty comfortable and started exploring the space on her own.
The one thing that we both love about the suite had to be the carpeted floor!
I had a ball rolling on it, while ah ma loved sitting on it.
Our parents actually found us in this position a fair bit during the whole stay.
As much as our parents would love to just stay in the room 24-7, they understood that we still need our toilet breaks and daily exercise.
Thankfully, there were plenty of grassy areas surrounding the hotel for us to peepee at.
In addition, we also spent the next two days exploring the vicinity. We covered Gardens By the Bay on Day 1 and a nice long walk from Conrad to Esplanade to Marina Bay Sands and back on the second day.
#touristsinourowncountry
I guess it worked out extremely well as we were really zonked out by the time we got back each night.

Sadly, good things always have to come to an end.
We really didn't want to go home and sulked in protest as our parents started packing.
We all know that Daddy doesn't print money for a living (WHY NOT?!). So, we had to check out after just two nights.
Oh well....
#ialreadysaythatineedricherparents
All in all, the staff and most of the guests at Conrad were really friendly towards us!
We got so much attention from them! Tons of pats and praises!
#peoplesaywearewellbehavedleh #wearefrauds
Despite that, there were a couple of other guests that appeared shocked (not in a good way) to see us. So, our parents did what they could to minimise the time that we were in the lobby to avoid upsetting others.

This was certainly a great way to end our year! And guess what, our parents are already discussing when to do our next staycation!
Hehehee... and we are keeping our paws crossed that it will be soon!

It's a JerHigh Party~

The awesome people from Charoen Pokphand INtertrade Singapore, the local importer of JerHigh, dropped us an email asking us if we would like to sample some treats.
Of course, we couldn't (and wouldn't) say no.
#wewillneversaynototreats
And viola~ they actually delivered, not one, but two awesome JerHigh treat hampers to us.
One for me and one for Pecan ah ma.
Oh boy, Christmas sure came early this year!
Wheeeeeeee~
Actually, this isn't my first time trying out JerHigh treats. The last time Mummy scooted off to Bangkok without me, she came back with tons of JerHigh treats (fresh from the BKK supermarkets) to seek forgiveness.
And of course, with my little tummy satisfied, I quickly let the fact (that she abandoned me to go on a vacay) go.
Needless to say, I was super excited and couldn't wait to get my paws on the treats.
Well, but there's always a BUT.
After posing for the shot, meando Mummy went ahead and packed the stash away.
For a moment, I thought that she was actually really gonna wait till it's Christmas before she would open up the hamper for us.
NOOoooooooooooooooooo
#mummytortureus #howcannogiveustreats #wegaveyoumilliondollarsmilesandyougaveusnothing #lifenofair

So life goes on.. whether we like it or not.
!@#!#@#%#@%!$
#mummycheatedus

Anyway, fast forward not one but TWO freaking weekends and we were having a camping trip in our new Wagwear tent in our pathetic living room.
#ineedrichparentswhohaveabackyard
What's camping without good food?
So, we made a suggestion, why not open up a hamper for us?
Guess what, Mummy actually said okay.
Wheeeeeeee....
We quickly headed into our tent and waited for Mummy to do her thing patiently.
#mustactguaibeforemummychangeshermind
Doing our sniff test on our long awaited treats.
It was only then that we realised that we were each given SEVEN packets of treats.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG....
Best of all, each packet represent a different flavour.
#spoiltforchoice
Although real chicken meat is the main ingredient in all of them, each treat is paired with a different ingredient (such as spinach, strawberry, cheese or chicken liver) to create a variety of flavours.
Hehe, and the best part is, not only do they taste delicious, they are good for health too!
From boosting muscle growth and healthy bones to maintaining brain functions (oooh.. good for Pecan's increasingly senile mind), there's even one for weight control (hehe, for my ever-growing tummy)!
Hehehe, now there's no excuse for Daddy to cut down on my treats.
#oneforfattysam #oneforsenileahma #unglamahmaisdroolingagain
Oh oh ..and Mummy kept commenting that the strawberry strips smelt just like her Pocky snacks. Seriously, we were so worried that she would steal them for herself.
#stayawayfromourtreats
And finally, we got our paws and jaws on some...
and we never looked back.
A very satisfied ah ma smacking her lips.
As for me, a grinning Sam is a happy Sam.
All I can say, this had to be the best camping trip ever (even though it was in our living room -_-)!
Thanks Charoen Pokphand INtertrade Singapore for the yummy treats!!!
Oh and it's totally Mummy's fault for taking so long to give them to us!
HEHEHEE..
